Winter is surely here. Though, I have to say I like California winter so much better than New England winter! Mostly, because we can still play outside :) Though it's been raining a lot we had 2 days of no rain. On the second day I figured the play ground would be dry enough for Ava, so after she woke from her nap I walked her down to the park. You would have thought she had never been before! She was SO excited and could hardly wait to get out of her stroller. She threw her beloved paci and blankie to the side and went for it! Auntie Laura met up with us and brought warm tea. It was so nice to see her beautiful face and give her hugs before the holidays.
I love this park. It has a special place in my heart. We've been taking Hailey since she was 20 months old to ride on the train and ("dancing horses") carousel, and now we bring Ava, almost everyday in the spring, summer and fall. We think of it as our backyard. It's a 10 minute walk from our apartment and it's beautifully maintained. The trees are beautiful, there is flowing water and a reservoir with geese and ducks. There are miles of trials for walking, running and biking. The playground is unique with an old fire engine and model air force plane for children to climb in and let their imaginations take them away, and they hold events for every holiday. On this day the sun was getting low and the Christmas lights were glowing at the train station.
Fall color is hanging on for a little longer...
Ava is getting a closer look at the brook. She likes to "fro raa" (Throw rocks) over the sides and watch them make a little splash!
She can do the slide all by herself! It's a little scary for me, but I ask her to sit on her tushie and wait for momma and she always does. She's so used to me saying "good girl" when I see her waiting that now she will say "goo gur" before I have the chance. If you ever find yourself at the park with her she refers to the slide as the "set go!"

And she LOVES the swings! She asks for "big puh" (big push!).
