Happiness is... playing in the snow!

The snow was still falling mid-afternoon and we were ready to head outside for some fun! This wasn't Ava's first time in the snow, technically, but it was her fist time playing in it :) Poppi worked hard snow-blowing while we watched in fascination! As soon as he was done we went out to play!

Mama is teaching Ava that she can eat the snow! When she finally trusted me enough to try it she said "buush teef" (brush teeth). I was confused, but I went with it :)
Then, Auntie Coley and I showed Ava how to "play" in the snow by running around in it like maniacs and jumping, falling down into the snow and rolling around, chasing each other (all the thing we used to do as kids). We couldn't make snowballs or a snow man because the snow was too light and fluffy, oh well.
Ava watched us be silly and began screeching in laughter! She loves watching adults do things that seem so "non-adult" like :)
So cute in the snow, but totally stuck! She couldn't walk in it. She had not the slightest clue how to even try. It was too deep for her.
Uncle Dave and Auntie Coley thought they would try the sled with Ava. She lied down in it!! She's too much :) Here Auntie Coley is guiding her up to the sitting position. It's hard to sit up when you are bundled up, I think ;)
She did it!
While Daddy pulled her, Coley held her back so she wouldn't fall backwards. By the look on her face you can tell she is loving it!
Uncle Dave wanted a turn to pull her, but was a little overenthusiastic, oops. Too fast for Daddy to keep up in the back.....and....
boom! she fell right out, snow in the face! You know, if it's ever happened to you, it's NO FUN! Poor Ava.
We plunked her down in a chair to let her watch as we did more fun things in the snow. She was amused.
Mama threw snow in the air and fell backwards to make a snow angel. Ava made one too later. It was the sweetest little snow angel I'd ever seen.

look at those smiles. Like I said, Happiness is... playing in the snow!
There are always a few tears when we have to come inside, but there was a cozy fire waiting for us to warm up up thanks to Poppi.
Ava relaxed with Daddy and her Paci and blankies.

All tired out. It's a big job to play in the snow. We'll do it again tomorrow :) Here's a little video clip of Ava in the snow!
