Fresh food at the Farmer's Market
We took a mid-morning trip to the Los Gatos Farmer's Market today, something we do much more in the spring and summer than winter and fall. I think the warmth of the season brings more appealing choices, more colorful flowers, fruits and veggies. Yum! Ava was pointing and yelling out all the food she could identify. "Carrots! Apples! Hummus! oooh, hummus, taste?!"
After picking up a crepe for Brad and some kettle corn for Hailey, he sat with the girls and they watched the entertainer-- a weird striped dancing, accordion playing man. He was strange enough to be intrigued by, but not afraid of. I had the luxury of taking off to stroll through the market just me and my camera, but I picked up some orange flavored almonds and snapped a picture of them before I ventured off.
And look what I found! $8 for a 3pack. The freshest I've had of the season so far. Strawberries are, and have always been, my favorite. I brought some back for us to delve into together right there in the sun.
Ava's checking...did you wash all the dirt off mommy?
yup, looks good to go!
Hailey, just lovin' her kettle corn
After snack: stained clothes and a strawberry mustache. (and Ava's little tongue trying to lick every last bit of strawberry juice she can!) That's just a guarantee that they were fully enjoyed! :)
And for Brad, I brought back 2 fresh Blue Point oysters. So cold and fresh! I got really excited for our summer trip to the cape at this point and gushed a little with love for Brad for having that kind appreciation for an oyster :)
gobble it up, babe!
