back to the Academy of Sciences...

our initial idea was to head up to Golden Gate Park's Stow Lake. I had heard wonderful things about it from my good friend Laura, so we made it there, but it was drizzly and cold. We walked around for about 5 minutes before we decided it would be better to check out the Academy of Sciences and be indoors for the day. Ava was a little bummed. She wanted to stay and play with the ducks :)
Sadly, this look of distress lasted the whole day. 20 minutes of nap in the car just didn't cut it for this cookie today. She was "mommy uppy!" all day. I knew I had taken her nap away from her so I loved her up, as demanding and irrational as she was. I held her almost the whole day, poor thing, in my arms, because I forgot the ERGO (the one day i needed it).
She let her loving Uncle Dave take her into his arms on occasion, but it didn't last long before the whining and tears would come. Thanks for trying though, Dave.
She was a little interested in things. We got to check out some really cool reptiles.
very cool huh?
The rainforest was as beautiful as it was a week ago :) Hummingbird and Monarch.
Ava and Uncle Dave peeking through the rails.
watching the big fish swim by!
getting so so tired. Almost fell asleep on the viewing bench. The turtle is sleeping too :)
We walked through the aquarium and Ava got less and less able to tolerate anything at all. I cradled her like I did when she was a baby and...lights out. As I tried to transfer her into her stroller she woke and screamed for Mommy again. Ahhhhhhh, mommy's tired too :(
Interestingly enough, we left. She didn't sleep a wink in the car and was happy as can be when we got home. Maybe she just wanted to be home that day. It was a long day, but Nicole and Dave really enjoyed the museum regardless and even bought me a yearly pass for my birthday! how nice! We really love it there, so we are grateful. :)
It was a wonderful visit with Coley and Dave. We miss them already.

  3. I LOVE the (lizard?) shot - great colors! And the lazy lounging at the turtle window . . . I had to call a cubicle neighbor over to see that sweet image . . . wonderful!
