The Ferry Building Farmer's Market, SF

Nicole and Dave flew in on Saturday morning and we planned to meet them in San Francisco at the farmer's market. It was pouring as we drove up 280 with Ava sleeping with her sunglasses upside down in the back seat. Brad and I glanced at each other in silence, both thinking...this might be a disaster. Well, we were oh so wrong! Sunny skies in SF on this beautiful Saturday and beautiful produce to browse through and taste. We met up with Coley and Dave in the Ferry building and greeted each other with huge hugs and kisses. It was SO good to see them :)
There are spectacular views of the Bay Bridge from the Pier
We stopped at Cowgirl Creamery and bought some delicious goat and sheep cheeses to take home for appetizers. So yummy!
we walked around checking out all the vendors. Stalks of sugar cane and everything else you could imagine....
plus, vibrant flowers
and a fiddler for Ava to dance and sing with :)
Ava hung out here for a while looking out at the seagulls and water while we slurped down fresh oysters.
Ava scooped beans with Auntie Coley for a good 10 minutes. Great activity for her, auntie!
she was so focused. And then the woman selling the beans said she could feel with her hands and we were there for another 5 minutes letting beans sift through our fingers. It feels good.
She has so many different kinds. We bought black beans to make Moosewood's soup.
Ava and Uncle Dave scoped out the herbs. I can't get enough of Ava is those shades. She uses them like an adult uses them!
It got chilly in the shade so we bundled up a little and ate at Il Cane Rosse, a small place in the Ferry building owned by one of Dave's old friend's sister. Yummy warm organic food. Coley and Ava watched the Ferry boat dock
Ava was having a great time climbing the bench and sliding through its cracks

After lunch we perused the Ferry building again, gathering things to make a fresh dinner when we got back to LG. You can see Ava needs another nap...
Dave and Nicole headed over to North Beach and Brad, Ava and I headed home to prep dinner. It was a great day and it ended with the great news of their pregnancy! We are so happy they came out to tell us in person!
